Fiber Laser Marking Machines and Other Laser Marking Techniques

Many laser techniques are being used in several industries out there. However, they always get mixed up or people tend to get confused. If one is not clear about different laser techniques then this ambiguity can lead to problems later. Normally problems arise between the seller and buyers, the products undergo techniques that were not asked for because the buyer was not clear them. Therefore, it is crucial to learn about them if one is trying to step in this business.

Here are some laser techniques, which have been discussed briefly so you are able to differentiate between them.

Laser Marking

Fiber Laser marking machines are often used on products such as surgical instruments and implants where the metal surface should stay intact. On such instruments, mostly precipitation marking is done. In laser marking, the heat emitted from the laser is actually used to rearrange the carbon particles in the material to make one prominent black mark and that too at the surface only. After the procedure, no rusting of the material takes place even if exposed to extreme conditions of oxidation.

Laser Engraving

As the name suggests, laser engraving is a technique that creates prominent, readable marks on the material. One frequent technique used in laser engraving is the CO2 laser engraving. In co2 laser engraving machine process, the outer color is removed to expose the color that is underneath to give a more finished and attractive look. It is also used for metals on order to give a feeling of depth.

Laser Cutting

Most people usually confuse this with laser engraving but as the name suggests in literally means cutting sections in materials like plastics and metals. Mostly the work is done with acrylics. While cutting the material, special attention is paid to keep the edges smooth and fine as to give a neat look. Sometimes, the technique water jetting is also used. Cutting here does not always refer to the cutting of hard materials such as metal but also paper and leather cutting.

Therefore, it is very crucial to get on hands on the proper terminology first. If you are uncertain about certain things then this can confuse you and the vendor as well. If you have a strong grip on the procedures, you can negotiate on pricing as well and save your money as well. In addition, it makes sure that the work is done according to your expectations and standards. For more info visit www.heatsign.com
